Cross-Border Blackwater Angling Competition Prove to be a Great Success

If you where out and about over the weekend, you may have spotted anglers busy at work competing at Blackwater’s annual angling event - THE BLACKWATER ANGLING CLASSIC. The Blackwater Angling Classic 2007 took place from Friday 7th to Sunday 9th September. A one-day competition took place the Friday at Enagh Lough, Caledon and two day competition on the Saturday at Black Island, Castleblayney and Sunday at Loughall Country Park. This competition has been delivered through the Blackwater’s Natural Resource Tourism Project part funded by the European Union through the INTERREG IIIA Programme managed for the Special EU Programme Body the ICBAN Partnership.

Both events have proven a great success with our sincere thanks to Fairline Angling Club members for marshalling the event so well over the past three days and the support received from Eastern Fisheries Board, Coillte and the local councils.
